Another (unlikely) possibility would be if the burrs are very cold and moisture from the air has condensed on them and makes the corn meal wet as it is being ground. Just portion the grains so they don't jam your grinder. Most coffee grinders can fit one cup of grain, so it will take time to grind the grains for a bigger volume of dough.

WEBDoes my mill have to be clamped down? Yes. The mills need to be secured in order to operate. Each mill has holes drilled in the base to allow you to bolt them down. The mills have 1/2" holes in mounting plate use a 3/8" bolt when attaching to solid surface. Can the No. 35 grind larger grains, coffee beans and grind fine flour on the first pass?
